Demographics and Enrollment Study
The Board received a presentation from Ken Reynolds of SchoolWorks regarding future demographic trends and enrollment projections. Key findings highlighted a notable influx of 80 students transitioning from homeschool or private school settings into the district between 8th and 9th grade. However, the district anticipates a slight decline in overall enrollment over the next two fiscal years.

Class Size and Certificated Staffing Review
Associate Superintendent Dr. Deepa Mukherjee presented a high-level overview of the methodology used to determine class sizes and staffing allocations across school sites. The discussion emphasized that salaries and benefits constitute approximately 80% of the District’s total budget. The presentation outlined the specific formulas and strategic considerations utilized to ensure equitable and efficient staffing levels based on current student needs.

Our planning architect partner, ABA Studios, presented several draft options for both Los Gatos and Saratoga High Schools. The recommended ideas were created with input from thousands of people across our community, including students, staff, families, and community members.

The Board provided their feedback on these draft options, which will now be used to create one recommended plan for each campus through the district’s Facility Master Plan.

Facilities Study Session
Staff reported that six of seven planned maintenance projects are now complete, with the SHS cafeteria project deferred for further investigation while the Summer 2026 project schedule remains unchanged. Regarding technology, $3,958,849 of the Measure E allocation has been spent to date, with the remaining $41,151 earmarked for student computer lab refreshes and battery failover systems by June 2026. To ensure all facility and technology goals are met, the District has committed to utilizing Fund 40 where feasible should bond funds be exhausted before the final phase is finalized.
