1.The School District of Reedsburg is dedicated to provide a safe and healthy learning and working environment, prepare our students for the future and instill a sense of respect and a passion for learning.
  • The district is committed to provide a “drug-free” environment for all students and staff. This will be administered through use of district policies, employee monitoring, partnership with law enforcement, employee and student handbook guidelines, education regarding drug use, abuse and reporting.
  • The district is committed to provide a safe environment with regards to “bullying” in any form, physical or emotional. This applies to students, employees and visitors to our schools.  This will be enforced through use of employee monitoring, education, guidance, video surveillance, district building goals, district policies, and student and employee handbook guidelines.  
  • The district is committed to provide counseling services and support for students and district staff. This will be provided to students through school counseling services and with administrative staff. Employee counseling will be provided through district Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services and with administrative staff
  • The district is dedicated to provide for the health and well-being of students and district staff. Student health needs will be met by district provided health services and district school personnel. Employee health needs will be provided by district staff, employee benefits, such as insurance coverage and handbook guidelines such as time off or sick leave policy 
  • The district is committed to provide a secure environment for all district activities. This will be accomplished through use of the district policies, student and employee handbook, police liaison officer, event staff and staff monitoring during all school related activities
  • The district is committed to a partnership with the food services department to provide nutritious healthy meals within the state and federal guidelines
  • Reedsburg students’ behavior will exemplify the skills, attitudes and practices characteristic of productive, community-minded adults demonstrating good citizenship, self–esteem, respect for others, accountability for actions and healthy lifestyles
  • The district is committed to provide safe transportation for the students using the district bus transportation system.


2.The School District of Reedsburg is dedicated to the demonstration of effective and efficient financial planning and fiscal responsibility to ensure a financially sound future for the district.
  • The district is dedicated to the preparation of an annual budget that is presented to the public at the annual meeting.
  • The district financial status will be reviewed at each monthly board meeting.
  • The district is committed to provide long term financial planning through use of the strategic planning process.
  • The district is committed to the analysis of employee wages and benefits comparing to the targeted labor market to recruit and retain district employees.
  • The district is committed to invest in professional development for staff to improve the quality of education and services provided in the district. Professional development will be related to the job duties of each employee.
  • The district is dedicated to invest for the future of the students and the district within the limits and ability of the district. This may include advances in technology, new and alternative methods of providing education, etc.
  • The district is committed to remain financially solvent on an annual basis using district planning and recommendations from professional planning services.
  • The district is dedicated to being fiscally responsible with regards to purchase, repair and use of transportation services.


3.The School District of Reedsburg is dedicated to practice effective communication with employees, students, families and the greater Reedsburg community.
  • The district is dedicated to use current technology as a means to communicate with students, families and the Reedsburg community. This may include general information, education and alerts regarding the district.
  • The district is committed to provide for direct and open communication with all constituents on a continual basis. It is the expectation of all district staff to provide effective and timely communication to students, parents, guardians, employees, administrators and the community.
  • The district is dedicated to maintain a current, informative and interactive website. The website will be monitored and updated by the district on a regular basis.
  • The district is committed to use an interactive website to provide access for the community to the school board, administrators and district staff. The district will use other available methods of current technology to allow for direct communication.
  • The district is committed to communication through regular public meetings, board meetings, staff meetings, committee meetings and special focus meetings.


4.The School District of Reedsburg is committed to enhance the partnership with the greater Reedsburg community and local business to foster a positive working relationship to help build a strong future for the Reedsburg area business community.
  • A primary method of communication for the community will be provided through a functional, interactive and informational website.
  • The volunteer coordinator is dedicated to be instrumental in community interaction through the use of community volunteers in the schools. This information will be posted and updated on the district website.
  • The district is committed to provide safe and secure facilities for use of the community.
  • The district will encourage development of curriculum and programs that interact directly with the Reedsburg area community.
  • The district is dedicated to develop business and community partnerships for the benefit of the district, community and students.
  • The district is committed to explore additional options and continued use of green technology.
  • The district is committed to explore enhanced relationships with local institution for higher education such as Madison College and UW Sauk County.
 


5.The School District of Reedsburg is committed to provide guidance for all curriculum and programming in the district to allow all students to grow and excel academically, socially and emotionally.
  • The district is dedicated to review all changes and updates to the curriculum, technology and programming to establish positive effects on the students, employees and community.
  • The district is committed to recommend and review all changes to the curriculum and programs to encourage the district and community partners to work together for the benefit of the students and the community.
  • The district is dedicated to explore integrative community education to partner with the business community, higher learning centers and local government for the benefit of the students and the community.
  • The district is committed to work collaboratively with DPI and district employees to cultivate critical thinking, implement and achieve mastery of the common core standards.
  • The district is committed to create a positive partnership with students and an effective educator in each classroom.
  • The district should prepare students to succeed as workers, community and family members and citizens in a rapidly changing world that we cannot yet fully imagine.

**The use of the SMART goal concept will be incorporated when appropriate. SMART goals will provide a method of measuring the goals. S=specific, M=measurable, A=attainable, R=realistic and T=time oriented.
